Taipan - a version with a Mercedes Benz OM366LA turbo-diesel engine that lost the bid for the Australian Specialized Vehicle System (ASVS) proposal (Project Bushranger). Bushranger is what led to the current Bushmaster vehicle based off a Timoney design, the MP44. They look similar but they are not the same. The Taipan owes more to the South African Mamba, being a derivative of the same.
