the German Type 212 is a highly advanced design of the non-nuclear u-boat developed by Howaldtswerke-Deutsche Werft AG (HDW) for the German Navy. It features diesel propulsion with an air-independent propulsuion (AIP) system using hydrogen fuel cells.
