Prime Portal's Plan of Attack
Prime Portal is nearing its fourth anniversary. What started out as two walk arounds has grown to over 38,000 pictures and videos posted! With the recent posts and the growing popularity of the site, the bandwidth has become a serious concern. Currently, Prime Portal is sending out 190 GB of data a month on the average and it is increasing.
It is time to take the next step. I am starting to build a second server to mirror the first. This server will be connected to the internet through a second high speed line. This will double the bandwidth for the high resolution pictures and videos, the pages themselves are hosted on a different server altogether.
Thank you to everyone who made this contribution drive successful! We have made our goal and the second line will be ordered tomorrow (08/29/05). I will keep you up to date on the progress.
